Here We Go Again

First time off the bike since September 24th. I guess I could use a bit of a break.
Winter Storm Warning Tomorrow
Things could get interesting. I'll see what it's like when I wake up, but no matter what I'll be out. Sounds like Amy will be there too. We've done this before, but I think we're the only ones addicted enough to do it again.

It's Here

Seemed a lot cooler tonight than the 52 degree temp indicated. Rain, cold, snow and 30 degree temps are predicted for Saturday. 52 degrees will seem balmy then. 30/17.5 (guess I was in a hurry tonight)

Caught a couple of brush-stroke clouds, with point-and-shoot, as the sun set over Lake Hiawatha and Nokomis.

WARNING: These things are everywhere including Walgreens, Target, Byerly's and Lund's. It's a sinister, devilish and dastardly design. Who could be so diabolical? God help us all.

Crazy Weather

Another beautiful day, then at about 2pm the clouds rolled in, just in time for me to roll out on the bike. Only a few light sprinkles the last little bit of the ride. Once finished with my ride and inside it started to pour and blow. I even saw lightning. Temp hit 68 today which broke a record set back in the 30's. Snow is predicted for Friday and Saturday. Good old Minnesota. 30/16.6

November?

Another day showing off the old hairy legs. Sure was nice out. Got up to 69 degrees. Looks like that's comin' to an end this weekend.
I witnessed a gorgeous sunset as I was repairing a flat on the rear tire. 31/17.3

I got to sign her cast first, because I was the first one to visit her in the hospital. My signature (Grandpa) is at the bottom left of the picture, or her right leg. It looks like it's upside down, but, from her vantage point, my signature is the only one she can read. I know she's only 10 months old! Taylor is doing good and so are her parents.

Light Rider

Gotta get out an hour earlier now, if I want to ride in the light. Temps were in the short-wearing range today, and it looks like the same for tomorrow as well. Pretty amazing!
As I came around Lake Harriet tonight, carrying my point-and-shoot, this is all that was left of the sun. 30/16.9

November Smiles Upon Us

Had to explain some proper riding etiquette to Amy. A friend, of mine, from a long time back was on the ride today. Amy was explaining to him that we don't usually ride this fast and hard on Sundays. I gently explained to Amy, we always tell my old friends, that haven't ridden with us before, even when we are riding hard and fast, that we are actually riding unusually slow...I got a reputation to uphold, you know.

This would be a beautiful day any time of the year, but November?... light winds, mild temps, wispy clouds...pure delight. And you know we had that friend thing goin' for us too.

We were playing really hard. I guess we should've done this yesterday. We added on a few extra miles and some quad splitting rollers, but it just seemed like what we should do on such a gorgeous day. I even asked permission from the ride leader, and got it. I wasn't being bad!
I leaned over to Mike as we were riding along and said, "you know, we're not a very good influence on each other". If he attacks a hill...well I gotta too and vice-versa. He said, "I'm going to pay for this when Paula and I get home". I'd already been physically assaulted once by Amy. Strangely enough though she had a smile on her face the vast majority of the ride, with only one or two growls that I heard.
After the ride, just Jeff (my friend from way back) and I were talking. He said, "she's tough (Amy), especially on the hills". I said, "I know!"
Great ride. It's up there with the best of the season. If I could move, I know I'd be smiling, but even that hurts. How does that work? Something that hurts can be soooo good? 53/19.3

Simple Pleasures

We played hard on some hills and rollers, for about 10 miles, then it was just gabbing and scenery enjoying. Riding and friends...so good. 74/17.8
