Good Sunday
Perfect temps. I love riding when it is 60 -70 degrees. The sun was warming with the temps just on the cool side. Got some solo riding in, hung out with Elijah, and an evening with Penny. Very nice! 47/17.3

Confused
What to wear? Change the route? What to eat? These questions rarely need review. The eons of accumulated cycling experience between me and Amy have, pretty much, fossilized the answers, but 55 degrees, rain and wind, IN JULY had Amy and I rethinking the usual.
The north wind just kept getting stronger, rain was up ahead, and temps were reminiscent of late September. No Hanover today. I wasn't prepared to get wet in 55 degree temps. Turned early and rode into Rockford to avoid the rain we sighted. This kept us dry and we didn't have to fight a headwind anymore.
It took us about 15 minutes to warm up after our Delano stop, which is typical for fall and winter riding. Although we no longer had to fight a headwind, the crosswind was still plenty nasty.
Not the cheeriest of rides. We did avoid the rain, but came into Wayzata behind some so we still got to enjoy road spray.
The cool temps brought on another tough choice: chocolate milk or hot chocolate. I opted for chocolate milk. I just couldn't bring myself to putting down some hot chocolate in July. I did wind up spending a good amount of time in a hot shower though.
Kind of a nasty ride, but I was riding with Amy, which is always good. 85/18.3

Need a Week!
It takes a whole week now, for me, to recover from a moderate century. That just sucks. Felt good tonight, even had a little giddy up, which only means I didn't feel like walking up Sabo Bridge. 20/16.4

The Good Life
Summer is taking a bit of a break. Temps haven't gotten out of the 70's for the last couple of days, and it's predicted to stay this way through the weekend. July and August are Minnesota's hottest months so a cool break is welcome. 20/16.3
I live about 50 yards from this bike trail. I can see it from my balcony. As a friend put it; it's like a surfer living on the beach.

One Of Those Good Days
50 miles with Amy. We met and watched Gabrielle race Southside Sprints then got in our ride. Last year Gabrielle got lapped and finished next to last at Southside. She took 4th today! That's some impressive progress in a year.
Gabrielle, Her Mom, and Me
Elijah and I got in some serious 4 wheelin' action this afternoon.
I even got in some camera time tonight.

Me Time
Opted for a solo effort today. A lot can get worked out and much clearer over 100 miles. I'm just one of those people that need some solitude regularly. A bike is perfect for finding it. 100/18.7

Two days, two rides, two flats both requiring new tires. I use Conti 4000s at $75 bucks a pop (pun intended). The addiction runs deep. 20/16.3

Mid Summer Beauty
Slept in and got a late start. I was also a bit delayed by the Tour. Sprint finishes are exciting, but there is nothing like watching a mountain finish play out. 50/17.4

Windy
Forty miles into a tough wind was pretty unpleasant. I am not exaggerating, but I had to pedal down a hill, with some effort, to maintain 19mph on my bike computer. Almost came to a stand still on the climbs. You gotta measure the effort you put out. If it's too much you blow up, with nothing left to get you home. Just a couple of us today. Amy and Adam turned back early....Adam had time constraints, Amy is tapering a bit for a TT on Tuesday. Me, all I gotta do is ride. Life is good! 85/19.1

The summer weather continues, and so do the rides. Very nice out there! The high temps in July have all been at 80 or above. Three of the days have been over 90. Keep it coming! 20/17.0
