Seems like it's been forever since I rode with Amy.
Snowy and sloppy today. Amy finally just took control of the ride (yeah, like that's never happened before) and got us out on the road. I was content just bumping along on the trail, but she was not having any of that. Sun surprised us with a visit and even though the temp was about 10 degrees we stayed plenty warm.
I put a new chain and derailleur on the Beast last night and quickly found that I should have replaced the front chain ring too...started skipping if I turned up the watts.
Good 3 hrs in the saddle today, with good friends. 36/12.2

Hello,
What kind of bicycle/tires do you have to have to ride on ice/snow the way you do? Thanks.
Nice icicles on the facial hairs!!! So Miss Amy took the lead today? She is one awesome lady.....
I use studded tires. Here is a link that gives you an example of what is out there. There are 4 or 5 good brands now. I like Nokian the best. 45 North also has a line of studded tires that is good.
I have two bikes I use in the winter. One is a mountain bike I’ve called the Beast, that I’ve put drop bars on. The other is a cyclocross bike, which is more like a road bike, but has the room for the larger tire profile needed for knobby studded tires.
