4HW

Just Me, Amy and Farm Implements. This image was taken along one of my favorite roads just before our descent into the Minnesota River Valley at Belle Plaine. It's a simple beauty that I've never grown tired of.

Hot, Hazy, Humid, Hilly and Windy.
There was some tough going, after Victoria, as we turned directly into the wind, which was unrelentingly in our faces all the way to Belle Plaine. Today's effort wasn't meant to be a hammer, but a 17.5 average at Belle Plaine was a little disconcerting. Lime Gatorade is magical. It makes everything better.
I mentioned to Amy that we could get back home from Belle Plaine with about 15 miles less on our legs and we could avoid some of the tougher climbs. She did some TT work this week, in prep for a race next weekend, and her legs were feeling it. She liked the idea. Along with a shorter ride home, less hills and Lime Gatorade we also had a tailwind. It was a new route for her and one I hadn't been on for at least 5 years. Very Nice! I can see this route being used a bit more often on our Belle Plaine Saturdays. 84/18.9

Love to see the pics of your riding roads. I realize it's hard to stop and take a pic, especially at your speeds, hate to stop, but as you get older maybe we'll see a few more shots from the road, and that's good too.
